CRC 1294 Alumna Theresa Lange Awarded Emmy Noether Group

We are delighted to share that Theresa Lange (Scuola Normale Superiore, Pisa), alumna of our CRC, has successfully secured funding through the Emmy Noether Programme.
Starting 1 March, she will establish and lead the research group Noise in Convection: Modelling and Analysis at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences in Leipzig.

The Emmy Noether Programme supports outstanding early-career researchers in qualifying for a professorship by leading an independent junior research group. With her new group, Theresa investigates thermally driven flows, with a focus on natural convection. It aims to derive physically relevant stochastic fluid dynamic equations related to convection, analyse their well-posedness and regularity, and study their impact on the underlying system.

The group will be based at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences and will be integrated into the International Max Planck Research School Mathematics in the Sciences. A doctoral position within the new group has already been announced.

We warmly congratulate Theresa on this significant achievement and wish her every success in building her Emmy Noether group in Leipzig.
