Kick-off Workshop
The members of the SFB 1294 and several interested and associated scientists came together to kick off the collaborative research centre in a two-day workshop on the 25th and 26th of September 2017. The workshop included welcome addresses by the president of the University of Potsdam Prof. Oliver Günther and the speaker of the SFB Prof. Sebastian Reich, talks by the invited guest speakers Prof. Dan Crisian, Prof. Mark Girolami, Dr. Aretha Teckentrup, and PI’s of projects within the SFB Prof. Alexandra Carpentier, Prof. Wilhelm Stannat, Prof. Yuri Shprits and Prof. Ralf Engbert. Lively discussions around the central theme of Data Assimilation and specific applications took place during the breaks and poster session. Thank you everyone for being there and we look forward to working with you over the next four years.
